When I use the wire picker in the Sensi mobile app, what if my wire is not listed or my configuration is invalid?

If you entered your wires into the wire picker and it said that your configuration is invalid, Sensi may not be compatible with your current wiring. You most likely require a “C” wire for your installation. Learn more about which applications require a “C” wire on our compatibility page.

If one or more of your wires is not listed in the wire picker, you may still be able to install the Sensi thermostat. Some wires like S1, S2 are sensor wires and can be taped off and pushed back in the wall, and Sensi will work fine without them. If you have wires labelled A, B, C, D or 1, 2, 3, V+, etc. your thermostat may not be compatible with Sensi. Please contact Sensi Support so an agent can evaluate your current wiring.
