I can't add my thermostat to my Sensi account
The Sensi App says my thermostat is already registered. What should I do?
When moving into a new home or purchasing a previously owned thermostat, you may find that the previous owner did not unregister their thermostat from their account. The thermostat must be removed from the previous account before you can add it to your account and control it from the Sensi app.
- Take a picture of the Sensi thermostat’s MAC ID, found on the back of the thermostat’s face plate.
- To remove the face plate from the wall, simply grip the thermostat on each side and gently pull towards you. You will see a white label on the left-hand side. Take a picture of the label and make sure that the MAC ID is clearly visible. Put the faceplate back on the thermostat base after taking the picture.
- Email that picture to the Sensi support team at support@sensicomfort.com.
- Use the Subject line “Unregister my thermostat” in the email.
- When the thermostat has been removed from the previous account, the support team will reply to your email and let you know. That’s it!
Please note that even though you can’t register the thermostat to your Sensi app to control it wirelessly, the thermostat still works like a regular thermostat to control your heating and cooling from the wall. So you will have full control of your heating and cooling from the wall unit while you wait for the thermostat to be removed from the previous account.

Removing the thermostat from your account
If you're going to move or need to transfer the thermostat to another account and you still have access to the thermostat in your Sensi app, you can remove the thermostat from the app.
- Open the Sensi app.
- Tap on the thermostat name you want to remove.
- Tap on "Settings".
- Tap on "About thermostat".
- Scroll down and tap on "Remove thermostat".
Now, the thermostat can be set up on a different Sensi account.
